Third of the pettorales group and 24th on the electroid roll, P3 consists of 20 medicinal plants of which 6 are from P1, 7 drawn from A3. It adds only two plants drosera and hyoscy of its own, as shown in the table below, A3 with its claim over blood vitiating phenomena, join together in P3 making a unique compund to protect the respiratory tract.

P3 is also known as soft remedy. This combination is indicated especially in the respiratory affection of the infants and children. It is an out and out anti cough compound. It is used in the treatment of Asthma, laryngitis, pneumonia and cervical lymphadenitis. Mainly acts upon bronchioles.
It is a great sedative and acts through its influence over the vagus nerve.

Dilution and its uses
(A) 1st dil : dry cough
(B) 2nd dil : asthma and cough in children
(C) 3rd dil : Pneumonia, bronchitis, whooping cough.
Dosage
Dry pills or globules : of P3 + C13 : 5-10 globules every 5 min for half an hour removes sputum.

In laryngitis, tracheitis
Warm compress
Asthma, pneumonia
Mechanism of action
The drug acts on vagus nerve and sedates due to which the cough and asthma, are controlled.
